Avio was a world leader in the design, manufacture and servicing of subsystems and components for jet engines, partnering with original equipment manufacturers (‘OEMs’) such as General Electric (‘GE’), Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney. Avio also operated a Space business, producing propulsion systems for space launchers and satellites. Avio was the sole supplier of complete solid rocket motors for space launchers to the European space programme.

In August 2013, Cinven completed the sale of Avio’s aviation business of to GE. Subsequently, in March 2017, Cinven sold the remaining Avio Space Propulsion business.
