International private equity firm, Cinven, today announces two new appointments to its Hong Kong office. Joseph Wan will join as a Partner and Richard Cheung has been appointed as a Principal. Both Joseph and Richard will join the London office on 8 September with the new office in Hong Kong officially opening in early 2009.

Joseph Wan, Partner
Joseph Wan joins from The Boston Consulting Group Inc., Hong Kong, where he was a partner and managing director from 2005. Prior to Boston Consulting Group Joseph was at Credit Suisse First Boston/ Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette Asia Ltd., HK. With fifteen years’ experience, Joseph has extensive expertise in consumer goods, retail, telecommunications and technology.

Richard Cheung, Principal
Richard Cheung joins from McKinsey & Company Greater China Office where he was a partner. Richard has been focusing on retail/consumer, gaming and healthcare sectors on operational, strategic and direct investment topics.  He has also been the co-head of the merger integration office in one of the largest retail merger deals in Mainland China.
