European private equity firm, Cinven, today announces the appointment of Jorge Quemada as a partner heading Cinven’s investment activities in Iberia. He will be a member of the Business Services sector team. Jorge will join Cinven in September 2011 from 3i, where he worked for over thirteen years. Prior to leaving the firm, he was one of two full time partners leading investments based in 3i’s Madrid office.

Jorge joined 3i in 1998 and has been involved in more than 20 investments in Spain and the UK since then. He began his career with the investment Banking Division of Société Générale in Paris. Key deals he was involved with at 3i include: Westminster Healthcare, Segur Iberica, Krafft, Open Solutions, Rodman and Panreac. In recent years he has led the acquisitions of Global Energy Services, the world leading service company to the renewable energy sector, Memora and Serveis Funeraris de Barcelona, the largest funeral services group in Iberia. He has an MBA from INSEAD and degrees in economics and business from the Universities of Madrid and Paris.
