The company's advanced ceramic products offered unique, application-specific mechanical, electrical, thermal and biochemical properties. Its proprietary product portfolio included ceramic hip joint prostheses components, high speed cutting tools and piezo-ceramic components for electronic sensors for the automotive industry.

CeramTec was headquartered in Plochingen, Germany, and employed more than 3,400 staff across 20 facilities worldwide.
