Gondola

Gondola was the market leading restaurant operator in the UK casual dining sector, trading under the brands PizzaExpress, ASK, Zizzi and Byron, with a number of smaller brands. The Group employed over 15,000 people, serving more than 40 million meals a year in over 700 restaurants. In November 2013, Byron, the UK burger restaurant chain, was sold to Hutton Collins, and in July 2014, PizzaExpress was sold to Hony Capital. Cinven finally realised its shareholding in Gondola when it completed the sale of ASK and Zizzi to Bridgepoint in January 2015.
