In June 2021, Cinven signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Arcaplanet, Italy’s largest pet care specialist, in partnership with the Fressnapf Group, the largest pet care operator in Europe and owner of the Maxi Zoo Italia pet care business.
Following completion of the transaction, Cinven and the Fressnapf Group combined Arcaplanet with Maxi Zoo Italia to create the Arcaplanet Group. The creation of the Group results in one of the leading pet care platforms in Europe, offering products and services across 500 stores and through a strong and fast-growing online channel.
Arcaplanet was founded in 1995. Today it is present across Italy with nearly 400 stores, a strong online presence and revenue of over 400 million euros in 2021.
Maxi Zoo Italia was founded in 2005. It is now present in 12 regions across Italy with over 140 stores, an online presence and revenue of over 193 million euros in 2021.
