Ufinet Group was a carrier-neutral telecom operator providing fibre infrastructure and transmission services to telecom operators in Spain through its subsidiary Ufinet Spain, and Latin America through its subsidiary Ufinet International.

Prior to its carve-out by Cinven, Ufinet Group was the telecom subsidiary of Gas Natural Fenosa, the largest integrated gas and electricity provider in Spain. Leveraging the infrastructure of the utility networks, Ufinet Group’s primary source of revenue was derived from the leasing of optical fibre infrastructure (‘dark fibre’ services) and provision of transmission services (‘lit fibre’), with additional offerings such as telecom services to corporates, satellite network capacity and associated value-added services. Ufinet Group was headquartered in Spain.
